Community Guidelines
Version 1.0-draft · DRAFT FOR LAWYER REVIEW · Effective: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
The ladder is for friendly competition between people who know each other. These guidelines keep it that way. They are part of the Terms of Service.
1. Be respectful
Be polite to everyone. No harassment, threats, hate speech or bullying. This covers names, nicknames, group names and anything you write.
2. Use your own, recognisable name
- Use your real name or the name your friends know you by, and the nickname you use in your WeChat group.
- Do not pretend to be someone else.
- No offensive, misleading or advertising names.
3. Record scores honestly
- Record only matches that were really played, with the real score and date.
- If you made a mistake, say so. The opponent can choose "Score is wrong" and you can record it again.
- Do not trade wins, throw matches on purpose, or play your own accounts to move up. Do not create more than one account for yourself.
- Confirm only scores that are right.
4. Admins' responsibilities
Admins should:
- approve only people they recognise from the WeChat group, and run the member check so people who left are removed;
- treat members fairly and keep notes of why they void a match (the reason is saved);
- change rules rarely and tell members when they do, because some changes recalculate ratings;
- remember that they act on their own, not for the service.
5. Keep the service safe
Do not try to break into the service or other people's accounts, overload it, or read data you are not allowed to see. Do not share your sign-in codes. Do not share an invite link outside the group it was meant for.
6. What may be removed
An admin may remove a member, void a match or reject a request that breaks these guidelines. We may suspend an account or a group for serious or repeated breaches. Removed members cannot rejoin unless an admin restores them.
7. How to report a problem
- A wrong score: use "Something is wrong" on the match, or ask an admin to void it.
- A person, a name or a match that looks fake: use "Report this player" or "Report this match" in the app. Your group admins read the report; the person you report is not told who reported. You can add a short note.
- A group, or an admin who is the problem: use "Report a problem with this group or its admins" on the Group tab. The service owner reads it, not the admins of that group.
- Anything else: write to [OPERATOR CONTACT EMAIL]. [TO CONFIRM: response times]
8. Changes
If these guidelines change substantially we raise the version number and ask you to accept again.
